When we say cool jobs, we talk about those occupations wherein workers have fun and love what they do. They are somewhat like a hobby but you get paid for your time and service. Really, how cool is that?

David Rosen, author of What’s That Job and How the Hell Do I Get It?: The Inside Scoop on More Than 50 Cool Jobs from People Who Actually Have Them has an interesting compilation of cool jobs which he believes are subjective. Meaning, it’s a matter of preference if a person will look at a particular job as cool or not. Anyway, here are some of the cool jobs as shared by Rosen in his book (in no particular order):

1. Actor or singer
2. Cowboy
3. Brewmaster
4. Professional golfer
5. Personal trainer
6. Academy awards ballot counter
7. Cruise director
8. Firefighter
9. Flight attendant
10. Broadcast sports reporter

Jobs – The Dirty Kind

Archived in the category: Cool Jobs

dirty1Ever seen the show with Mike Rowe, yep, that’s an avenue to pursue for as he brings to light the unsung heroes of the civilized world who make all this modern technology possible he also brings unique opportunity. Jobs in the craziest fields with the craziest job descriptions might be just what you need to kick those working bodies back to life after being laid off and suffering from depression. Some of them are even easy as pie (but dirty of course). Some of the jobs the show features are not even known outside their respective industries, try searching for these jobs and you might find that you have a knack for all the dirt and grime he has shown, but be warned, a real job doesn’t come with the camera crew and clean clothes. From septic tank technicians to solar panel installers and insulation technicians, they all sound different and they sure are, dirty that is. From cleaning wind generators to lubing mountain ski lifts, they are all there waiting for you, if you know what we mean. The unsung heroes of the modern world, down and dirty!

Job hunting is not easy especially if you are new to it like those newly graduate who look for a job, or those under graduate who cannot continue their studies because of financial constraint. that’s why i suggest to those who are new to job hunting to ask your friend how did they do their first job hunting experience. one way that i call traditional job hunting is going to different companies and asking if they have vacancy. if they have no vacancy they will ask you to leave your resume so that they can contact you if they you for future reference. but i don’t suggest this type of job hunting because it requires a lot of effort, time, and money. imagine you will walk to and fro to look for a job and then you will spend money for your food, transportation, and miscellaneous. but then you are still not sure if you will be accepted. what a waste of time and effort?
